Reflection: The strength of both the lesson plans are it provides simple questions and activities that are grade appropriate. The strength of my revised lesson plan is that I took what was given to me and I redid it on a 5E lesson plan template which is much more organized and broken down in steps to better understand the goal and objective of the lesson. Another strength from my revised lesson plan is that I added 3 digital tools (Google Slides, Seesaw and Quizizz) to the lesson plan which makes the lesson more engaging, includes a visual tool to grab students attention, and allows students interaction with technology. Weakness of the original lesson plan was that it had no use of digital tools and the lesson plan only consisted of questions and drawing a picture, it also didn’t provide the goal/objectives, and didn’t have the tools for proper student engagement with the lesson. The first digital tool is Google slides, on the original lesson plan there was no engagement part to grab the students attention before reading the book, so for this I included the tool Google slides to display visual images for the students which helps students understand the vocabulary with the image definitions better. Second tool is Seesaw, this is a popular student portfolio tool that is used in classes which helps connect students, teachers and families better and in this lesson students are asked to record the video of their drawing and explain their drawings related to the question prompt of the lesson, not only will this allow students to share their work, students will interact with their technology and practice verbal communication. The third tool is Quizizz, this tool is an engaging tool that teachers use to observe how their students did, it looks more like a real video game which excites the students to take quizzes and it is better than any traditional way of answering multiple choice questions.
