SUMMARY
Incorporating technology isn’t just about keeping students busy; it’s about empowering them to create, connect, and learn in meaningful ways.
I explored how technology and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles can enhance accessibility and engagement in the World Languages classroom. My practical experience involved observing a high school Spanish class where tools like Google Docs and Slides were used. While these tools helped with organization and visual support, they lacked interactivity and advanced accessibility features.
To address these gaps, I redesigned the lesson using Nearpod, Canva, and Padlet. These tools introduced real-time collaboration, creative expression, and accessibility features like captions and screen reader compatibility. The redesigned lesson will not only increase student engagement but also encourage critical thinking and teamwork.
