PRACTICAL COMPONENT

      This practical component of the EDU 227, Capstone project is an analysis of what was discovered in the process of investigating a topic of interest that could be enhanced by integrating Universal Design For Learning (UDL),  5E Framework Instructional Technology Development Design Model, which builds up from one lesson to the next. Instructional Technology Digital Design Tools were employed to provide a more engaged and expressive learning experience. Assessment is a part of the process when designing curriculum content for the classroom. TRIPLE E Framework a useful and effective Instructional Technology Evaluation tool used to evaluate whether your Educational goal was met.

APPROACH and CHALLENGE     

     In exploring the topics on Instructional Technology- Digital Citizenship and Media Balance in order to merge to enhance one of the Girls Who Code Lesson Plan Topics on Core Mechanics and Components its implementation suggests  some challenges as well as successes in the instructional design process.  

     Implementing in itself is challenging due to the nature of the environment ,attitudes and beliefs. The initial Lesson Plan was designed with a single Activity with little opportunity for engagement and offered only one option for means of  showing what they know.   The Activity was revised to represent a complete lesson that emphasizes the core UDL principles of multiple means of representation, multiple means of engagement and multiple means of action and expression These concrete methods can be applied to any discipline to ensure all learners get meaningful challenging learning opportunities.
