Digital Learning Lab

This is intended for a high school audience to articulate digital learning competencies across all disciplines.  This poster is intended for display in any classroom and to be available as PDFs translated into the L1s spoken by the student body and their parents.  These are entirely derived from the ISTE standards.  I looked for those that were appropriate across all disciplines and not just those of STEM.  I adopted the “I can” language that we already use at my school for student-facing learning objectives.  Among the many standards and ancillary standards I focused on those standards that were broad enough to stand largely on their own without previous lessons in digital citizenship or any computer science related course work.  I did this because nearly all of our incoming students are in the country for less than three years and likely will not have completed any coursework that aligns with New York State digital literacy standards.  This broadness in the standards I choose will permit content area teachers the flexibility to align their own ad hoc digital literacy curricula with the broader school wide standards.
